Crowdhelix can send you targeted email notifications of relevant activity on the platform, based on the research and innovation topics you are interested in, and types of interactions you can have with other Expert users of Crowdhelix.

You can set up your notifications as part of the account setup process when you first register for Crowdhelix, or at any time by accessing your Notification Settings.

<aside> ⚠️ Certain important system messages sent by Crowdhelix, such as password reset confirmations, cannot be turned off without deactivating your Crowdhelix account. To request this, please submit a personal data request via your 🎓 Profile Settings page.

Step by step

Option 1: Set up your notifications whilst setting up your Crowdhelix account

During this step of the registration process you can set up your email notifications by first choosing your topics of interest (corresponding to Helix communities on the platform), and then choosing the types and timings of the emails you want to receive. To begin, click the box at the top that currently shows None selected.

A window appears with a list of Helixes, which are virtual Open Innovation communities hosted on the Crowdhelix platform focused on a particular research and innovation topic. Select any number of Helixes that interest you, and the system will recommend related Helixes that may also be relevant. Once you are finished, click Done to save your choices.

<aside> ⚠️ Choosing Helixes as part of setting up your notifications does not affect which content you can or can’t see on the Crowdhelix platform. Your choices here only influence the email notifications you receive when other users post Opportunities into these Helixes.

You can now choose how often you would like to receive email notifications from the Crowdhelix platform. By selecting our Recommended settings you will receive:

• Instant notifications every time an Opportunity is posted into Helix(es) you have chosen as your topic(s) of interest;
• A weekly digest email of opportunities posted into Helix(es) that are not in your topic(s) of interest;
• Hourly notifications of Direct Messages received from other Experts on the platform;
• Instant notifications of Comments posted as replies to an opportunity or comment you have posted;
• Instant notifications of opportunities shared with you by another user on the platform, or matched with you by Crowdhelix’s intelligent recommender system.

Alternatively, you can set up each of these options individually by selecting Custom settings, or restrict notifications to only important system messages by selecting None.

Click Continue to save your choices and proceed to the Opportunities page on the main Crowdhelix platform. You can always change your selections later by accessing your account’s Notification Settings, following the steps marked Option 2 below.
