Crowdhelix will launch the new Research Management Helix at the EARMA conference in Prague between 24-26, April 2023.
The Research Management Helix will establish a community of best practice, and provide training, support and accreditation for research managers across the European Research Area.
In doing so, the Helix will act as a networking and collaboration hub for research management professionals, where they can share new ideas, knowledge and methodologies.
A core part of the RM Roadmap project, funded by Horizon Europe, the Research Management Helix seeks to influence the future of the research management profession by bringing research managers, including those from widening countries, together to improve the EU’s competitiveness and sustain its economic performance.
Who can join the Research Management Helix?
Anybody involved in research management activities, whether in an RTO research office, research group, academic department, public organisation, industry or elsewhere. We recognise that research managers have a broad range of specialisms and we want to create a space where we can share knowledge, ideas and experiences.
Access to the Research Management Helix is free. This will give individuals access to read and comment upon any posts within the Helix. Over 180 RTOs and Universities are paid members of Crowdhelix and this allows them to post in this and other Helix communities on the Crowdhelix platform.
Why should I join the Research Management Helix?
The Research Management Helix is a key component of an ambitious project that seeks to understand the needs of the research manager community.
By joining the Helix, you will be able to shape that process, utilise and adapt European and national research management, whether through enhanced practice, sharing skills and training opportunities, understanding capacity gaps, creating career pathways, or through reflective learning.
Members of the Helix will also be able to receive and share information on available training, funding calls and introduce issues for discussion in a solution-focused environment. The Helix is a platform for you to form professional networks with fellow research managers.
I’m a member of another RM network, can I still join?
Yes. The Research Management Helix will connect existing European networks on the Crowdhelix platform to fast-track an unprecedented co-creation process in the research management profession. Ambassadors have been appointed for each country in Europe and these individuals will, alongside the Helix, be key to dissemination and engagement.
What is the RM Roadmap project and what is its connection with the Helix?
The Research Management Helix is a key project output emanating from the Horizon Europe funded RM Roadmap project.
RM Roadmap is a three-year project that seeks to create a roadmap for the future of research management in Europe and a community to support its delivery. The Research Management Helix will act as a virtual hub where RM professionals can feed into the project and collaborate on future funding calls.
